Overview
Digital products are delivered automatically after purchase:
- Customer buys product
- Payment is confirmed
- Unique download link is generated
- Link is sent via email
- Customer downloads the file
No shipping, no inventory to track.
Creating a Digital Product
- Go to Admin > Products
- Click Add Product
- Toggle Digital Product on
- Fill in product details
- Upload the downloadable file
- Save
Upload Limits
- Maximum file size: 100MB
- Supported formats: Any file type
For larger files (courses, software):
- Split into multiple smaller files
- Use a ZIP archive
- Host externally and provide access instructions
Delivery
Automatic Delivery
After purchase:
- Order confirmation email includes download button
- Customer clicks to download
- Secure, signed URL ensures only buyer can access
Download Limits
- 3 downloads per order
- 7 days to download
After limits are reached, customer must contact you for a new link.
Secure Links
Each download link is:
- Unique to the order
- Time-limited
- Cannot be shared (won't work for others)
Customer Experience
Order Confirmation
The email includes:
- Order details
- Download Now button
- Link expiration notice
My Downloads
If customer accounts are enabled, customers can access downloads from:
- Account > Orders
- Click the order
- Click Download for each digital item
Mixed Orders
You can sell digital and physical products together:
- Digital items: Delivered immediately
- Physical items: Require shipping
The order confirmation separates:
- "Your downloads are ready"
- "These items will be shipped"
